Our recommendations for eating out are not really our own but those of our hundreds of guests.
In no particular order:

     McPhee' s Grill... Located in Templeton, it features Continental cuisine and is one of the highest rated eateries in the county. A favorite with guests.

     Artisan Restaurant in Paso Robles... A relatively new restaurant with rave reviews. It also features Continental cuisine and we have received many glowing reports of great meals.

     Village Café in Atascadero... this is a small, non-pretentious place with really good Italian food. Your hosts dine there frequently.

     Villa Creek in Paso Robles... we would describe this place as "Southwest with a twist", unusual creations that guests find very palatable and recommend highly.

Penny's on the Manse... Step back in time and enjoy a leisurely lunch on the porch of a grand old house in Templeton. Soups, sandwiches, salads and house-made desserts will not dissapoint.

     Bistro Laurent in Paso Robles... a classic French Restaurant with a track record. Small, cozy and quite popular.

Our recommendations for wineries will include some unusual features and will be limited in that there are over 180 wineries in the area:

     Tablas Creek specializes in Rhone wines and offers a unique tour of their facility.

     Turley Winery offers some of the best Zinfindel available (from 100 year old vines).

     Pipestone Winery and Dunning Winery are neighboring vineyards which offer great wines that are poured by the owner/operators.

     Dover Canyon is another small family run winery with many Rhone wines and Mary Baker, a partner, teaches classes in wine appreciation and is an accomplished cook. She offers interesting information on wine/food pairings.

     For those inclined to road trips, your hosts can suggest a number of interesting drives around the county. This is an area that has mesmerized many who have seen it and we can point out it many features.
